First edition thus
4to (225 x 162 mm). aa6 A-Z4 AA-BB4 C6: (6) leaves, 212 p. Ed. by Èlie André. Wormtrack to the lower blank margin of A3 to I2. Marginal waterstaining. First flyleaf worn. Contemporay limp vellum. A very rare edition. – ustc 150922 (4 copies); Papadopoulos no. 2399; not in Adams.
The editor, Èlie André (Helias Andreas) translated Isocrates and Anacreon into Latin (Paris, 1548 & 1556), published a Carmen de Pace (Paris 1559), wrote Latin poetry, published by Janus Gruterus in his collection of Deliciae poetarum gallorum, vol. I, 67-89. ustc has the lawyer André Tiraqueau as editor, translator and of commentator of Gaza’s grammar. This seems to be a misunderstanding.
The praefatio is dedicated to Sebastièn de Guichie of the noble La Guichie family. Sebastién was prior of Losne in Burgundy.
