Philostorgius (c. 368–c. 435) wrote his history of the Church covering the period from the beginning of the Arian controversy until around 425, from an Arian that is heretical perspective. The book was banned, not copied or distributed, and it was not until Photius (9th century) that a summary of the book was published. Godefroy (1587–1642) used a copy of Codex Baroccianus 142 (Bodleian Library) for his extensively annotated edition. – Hoffmann III 77 (ed. 1643). Godefroy’s Epistola dedicatoria is dated 1st May 1642.
