¶ Stier (1588-1648), belonged to the circle of Daniel Stahl in Jena. The praecepta are written for university lectures, and are in tabular form except the Quaestiones controversae in the physics part. Regarded the number of editions, some of these published in Oxford and Cambridge, it seems to be one of the most successful text books of the 17th century.
