A few pages are falsely numbered: 97 as 98, 111 as 96, 120 as 129, 198 as 197, 201-208 as 101-108. Faint waterstaining to second half of the book. Provenance: Ownership-entry Ioannis Gayant on fly-leaf, dated 1637, and on title; marginal notes in a contemporary hand. Contemporary blindstamped dark-brown calf. Lower joint neatly restored. – Schreiber 41; Renouard p. 31., no. 23 („L’Opusculo De Viris Illustribus [now attributed to an unknown author of the 4th century, JD] porte un titre exprès et se vendoit aussi séparément.“); Schweiger II/2, 805 (apparently not seen); Armstrong p. 28: „the early classical texts [printed by Robert Estienne] are extremely rare …“
