Contemporary calf over wooden boards. Upper joint repaired; rubbed, spine in parts defective (see photo); later endpapers.

Editor of the Chrysostomos was Bernardino Donato, il celebre letterato from Verona (ca. 1470-1532), who held the chair of Greek in Padua from 1526 onwards, then lectured in Verona; he was direttore editoriale of the Giberti press. The Oecumenius is dedicated by Donato to Clemens VII, i. e. Guilio de’ Medici.
